This 3-day tour includes two of the most popular destinations in Nicaragua and departs from and arrives at Peñas Blancas, the border with Costa Rica.
The tour begins in Peñas Blancas, the border with Costa Rica, where you and your luggage will be collected and transported to the fishing village and port of San Juan del Sur. After checking into your hotel in San Juan, Barrio Café Hotel, you will start off the tour with a visit to the Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia (Christ of Mercy Lookout Point) where you can admire panoramic views of San Juan and its bay. As its name might suggest, the lookout point is marked by a giant statue of Christ (134 m / 440 ft high) which greets visitors to San Juan.
After some time at the lookout point, you will have free time to explore this colorful, laid-back party town (yes, San Juan somehow manages to be both) or schedule a visit to one of its nearby surfing beaches.
You will have breakfast at Barrio Café Hotel. After check-out, our vehicle will transfer you to the city of Granada, where you´ll check-in at the beautiful Colonial Hotel, La Gran Francia.
After check-in, you will start your second day, discovering the Colonial City of Granada, the oldest Colonial city on the American Continent. Granada was founded by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba in 1524 and is now one of Nicaragua's greatest attractions.
At the designated time, you’ll be off on a traditional horse carriage tour of the main attractions of the Colonial City of Granada. This tour will introduce you to all the most important sites: San Francisco Convent; Sandino Park; Granada’s Old Hospital; La Pólvora Fortress; Xalteva Park; La Merced Church and Granada’s Malecón.
After the carriage tour, you will be taken to Lake Nicaragua, Central America's largest lake and home to 365 small islands called isletas. From there, you will board a boat and enjoy all the magnificent flora and fauna of the area, as well as spectacular views of Mombacho Volcano.
After the boat tour, you will be transported back to Hotel La Gran Francia, where you will spend the night and have the option to have dinner. You’ll have the rest of the evening to enjoy the city on your own or book a mini tour with us.
Breakfast is included with your stay at La Gran Francia. After check-out, you will be transported back to Peñas Blancas, the border with Costa Rica.
