Day 1: First Encounter with Sandino
Arrival to Managua. Welcome at the Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport and Managua City Tour to visit the principle sites of the city of Managua, which also the capital city, where General Sandino after the signing a peace treaty is betrayed by the General Anastacio Somozo Garcia, founder of the National Guard and also the Somoza’s Dynasty.

Day 2: Getting to know Sandino
Managua –Jinotega-San Rafael del Norte
The tour continues to The city of Jinotega is also known as the City of the Brumas for its constant fogs, on September the 2nd, 1927, Sandino established his general headquarters of the Defending Army of the National Sovereignty over the hills of El Chipote; his army was also baptized by the Argentinean writer Gregorio Selser as the “little crazy army”. In same Department, in the municipality of San Rafael del Norte, where Sandino meets Blanca Arauz, the telephonist of that town, of whom he falls in love and marries. The love of Sandino for Blanca has inspired many national songwriters. Lunch included.

Day 3:First Political Manifesto
Jinotega: Yalí – Estelí
Departure to San Sebastian city of Yalí in the Jinotega Department, another bastion of many of Sandino’s battles, where he launched his first Political Manifesto, also where you will be able to appreciate landscapes of the mountains and the crops of the site, after we will arrive to the beautiful small town of Bramadero that served as a containment barrier against the American troops. Here we will visit the town small museum and then we will head to the cities of Condega and to the heroic City of Estelí, a city that was bombarded on three occasions by the National Guards during the war against the Somoza’s Dictatorship. Day 4:Deepening into the Mountain
Nueva Segovia: Ciudad Antigua – Madriz: Somoto
We will continue to enter further into the colourful towns where the small crazy army of Sandino had a strong social base during the years of the war that allowed them to face with success the American invasion. Somoto is the cradle of the Mejia Godoy brothers (Carlos and Luis Enrique) they are the main songwriters of the Sandinista struggle. Lunch Included.

Day 5: Sandino’s Birthplace
Niquinohomo–Masaya- Managua
After a delicious breakfast, we will head southeast of the country to the little town of Niquinohomo birthplace of the AUGUSTO C. SANDINO, better known as the General of Free Men. Lunch included. Afternoon visit to the Craft market at Masaya City and transfer to Managua.

Day 6: Sandino in our Memory
Transfer to the airport
After a delicious breakfast, we will head to the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in the capital city of Managua to return home.
